We fished only a couple hrs Thursday so I could get back in time to replace the plumbing under the kitchen sink.Went out of the river a couple miles toward Keaton in some mighty black water. Managed 3 trout and a good spanish.

Friday decided to head south in search of clear water. Finally found clearer a couple miles south of Pepperfish and proceeded to fill a 5 man limit of nice trout 16-23 inches. Maybe 4 shorts and only 1 catfish. After we limited we tried to find some reds but came up with only one short that my wife caught. Headed in around 3:00 to cook up a LCB for the guys.

Sat headed south again to the same area. Managed 10 trout 17-22 in and 1 spanish.Headed in at 1:30 when the wind started picking up. The ladies had enough beating in my skiff the past 2 days and wanted a smoother ride in.

All in all a good trip. Headed back in 2 weeks to fish a little and replace the water heater in the kitchen that blew apart Sun morning around 3:30. Quite a rude awakening.

I'm going to be down there this weekend. I have fished Steinhatchee a dozen times. This is my first time at St Marks. In your opinion is it worth traveling from St Marks to Aucilla/Ecofina?

I have a Key West 1720 with a 90 Johnson. You can PM me if you would like. Glad you did some damage out there!

We made the trip from St Marks to Cobb Rocks (almost to Aucilla) on Saturday. Picked up a slot Red at the rocks, water was pretty dirty though, had much better luck back East. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, my 1720 is a rough ride on open water, and no fish is worth the risk if I could just stay up there! I'll check back in on how we do. Hopefully it isn't gonna rain as much as it is predicting.
