SGI - 4 May 2014

Post by Terrier »

Went out to St George Island for the the first time this year. There was a lot of standing water from the recent rains. The bay side was dirty as expected, but the Gulf wasn't too bad. Fishing was off - managed only a ladyfish in the gulf and lost a few more. Went over to Rattlesnake cove and picked up a 19" trout, a sailcat and a short red. I also lost a slot trout at my feet. Fish came on either a tan/chartruese/olive clouser or a green/gold polarflash clouser.

I think next week should be good, as long as it stays dry.

Yes - that one had shoulders and belly - I was afraid it would be full of eggs or full of a recent meal but it wasn't. It did have a mostly digested fish in it's stomach which stuck like a rotten egg (have you ever noticed that wives don't have an interest in science when it takes place in the kitchen?)
