Ecofina report Saturday 5/17/14

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

Image. Fishing CPA and I got there about 6:30 to an almost empty lot. Got launched and headed out in the 54degree air to a beautiful sunrise. We figured the water would be clearer south so that's where we went. Went down near Hickory mound and found our 1st fish. Image. The wind was blowing 15 knots and the water was 64degrees. The fish were hard to come by and few and far between. If not for the unusual flounder bite it would have been a pretty poor day. The chatter on the radio was reporting poor fishing. We move around a lot and finally moved north towards Aucilla. Image. The water was flat calm and up to 74 degrees. Still wound up being a good day. Image. Except for the ticket I got on 159.

:o What we could not believe was that we could actually see the bottom between Ecofina and Aucilla in 6' of water. :o

Good catch of flounder. I accidentally catch mine. Were you fishing for them? If so, tell us how you rigged and worked the bait. They were every where a few weeks ago around Rock Island. We caught three fishing for trout.

What was the speed limit where you got the ticket? $251, that is high, feel for ya.

I would rather have a mess of flounder than a mess of trout any day. Good job

. 25 he said. I love flounder too. Glad I had bought a pair if catfish skinners. Made cleaning easier.
