Tried to launch at the marina, but it's closed again.

Put in at Spring Creek and ran the channel markers south. Interesting that several of the markers and parts of the channel are completely different from the info contained in my Garmin's blue chip.

Wound up almost to Panacea before finding fish of decent size. Boxed 4 from 18-21". Was reeling in # 5 when it was consumed by a 4 foot shark. Took this as a sign to head back to the hill. Used live shrimp under an equalizer.

Water temp 74 degrees, wind E @ 15 in the am subsiding to <10 by the afternoon, only 2 waves over the bow.

Sawbones, I think someone posted that the Shell Point ramp is open only on the weekends.

Gotta hate when the sharks take half a fish. Sounds like you're getting into this inshore stuff, tho.

Good catch Bones. It was only a 4 footer, no need to head to the hill. :o :-D

Tin Can, my boy's big enough for the bay now. I'm trying to get better at this inshore stuff so's he can go with me and stay entertained. Gotta get a bigger boat first though.

Bones, how old is your son?

Take that boy fishing now, and you'll have a fishing partner for life.

TC, he's 8 and has been fishing the lake and the river with me for a while. I'm just a bit more cautious when it comes to salt water.
