Got to the ramp just before sun up. Went solo today because I wanted to focus on a inshore slam after hearing many reports of flounder catches in the area. My day started extremely slow although conditions couldn't have been better. I went hours without a bite. After trying my favorite Redfish holes with no luck I moved out onto the flats. Still nota unless you wanna count Ladyfish and 3 Jack Caravelles (lots of fun). By noon, all I had toward my inshore slam goal was a 17" flounder and a short trout (14-7/8") which didn't count. With hope fading by 2:30 or so, I headed back shallow for another effort at a Red. This paid off with another keeper flounder 16", a 25-1/2" Red, and on my last cast.....a 16" trout ! All caught on the same lure....Goal accomplished... The good Lord blessed me with a safe trip there and back and the boat ran great all day ! I am thankful..
A good day for sure....I spoke to a friend later who had done MUCH better than I had with the trout and flounder.
