The Blue Marlin Grand Championship is underway in Orange Beach, Alabama. Fifty-seven boats are competing for $1.327 million in overall prize money. Scales open this afternoon, but most of the boats will choose to weigh in on Saturday at The Wharf Marina.

The action kicked off Wednesday night with the Miss Billfish contest with yours truly a judge again this year. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it...

Up To It weighed in a 442 blue last night. Everyone will be in tonight and Relentless Pursuit and Dirt Pit both have boated marlin measuring 114 inches. Up To It's fish taped out at 105, so the big girls are on the way to the scales.
