Saturday: Launched around 10:00 out of Bottoms Rd and headed north of Piney toward Oyster Cove. Fished the grass flats for awhile using live shrimp. Nothing but short specks. Moved just off one the oyster bar near the Cove to hit the incoming. Caught a short red on shrimp and my buddy caught a 19". Nothing but jacks from that point on. I like to eat jacks and bleed one out over the side of the boat. About 10 minutes later, a huge shark shows up thrashing around the oyster bar :o My bad for bleeding the fish out over the side of the boat. We moved farther out and a little south to the grass flats. I landed a keeper trout on a gulp shrimp. Nothing else but lady fish and cats. The water clarity was not as good as the previous Sunday, but it rained a fair amount during the week.

Sunday: same launch location around 10:30, went back to Oyster Cove area. Caught a short red right off on a little gold spoon. Not a thing after that. Unfortunately, Angie's and Crum's were both out of live shrimp (shoulda got up earlier). Bought some frozen but frozen just makes it easier for the bait stealers. Hit the grass flats after but nothing but short trout. Water clarity had improved substantially by Sun and surface was pretty smooth.

Thanks for the report! Sounded like a good day even though there weren't too many fish to be had. You'll get em next time!

I have not been in a couple of weeks- good to hear that the water is clearing up.
This time of year I usually do better out in front of piney in deeper water.

That's what my buddy was saying. He complained we were catching too many shorts because we were shallow. But, the weekend prior on Sun, we did pretty well catching trout and weren't that far offshore (maybe 200-300 yards).

Nice early incoming tides this weekend for Dickerson and plan to hit it both days.
