1. Roe : Fish Eggs. a mass of mature fish eggs, especially when still inside the ovarian sac, sometimes eaten cooked.

2. Roe : fish sperm. a mass of mature fish sperm, especially when it is still inside the testicular sac.

Seems like a couple of the fat, hog trout I boated this past Saturday... hmm.. "jizzed" me.

Folks eat roe.

I'm assuming folks eat #1 above and I got gooed by #2.

Now that you've had your Monday morning chuckle  , sit me down and tell me about the birds and the bees.

Talk amongst yourselves.....

Perhaps I'm a little out of line in my wording up there. But it is a serious question.

A lot of fish, notably trout, evacuate their bowels when taken from the water.
I was told it was a "pressure" reaction, I tend to think they are just getting their own back on us.
Its unlikely to have been "jism", but I suppose it could have been. :-?

Fish roe is superb to eat and none better than Atlantic cod roe.
My brother caught a 25lb cod from the beach, when we were in our teens.
When I cleaned it, there was a roe sack inside that weighed almost 6lbs.
At that moment, I knew just how the old gold prospectors felt, when they found a nugget. :D

Hmm. Ok.

All I can say is if it was bowel evacuation, this trout had a steady diet of jellyfish.

Rascal, most of the fish we caught this weekend were full of roe. Chances are good you got gooed by #2. The yellow roe is very good to eat. I've never cared for the white.

My aunt used to eat the roe from bass. I never tried it, I don't even eat chicken eggs.
