Keaton August. 1-3

Post by Perch Jerker »

Found limits of scallop south of big grassy. No secret, just look for the boats and keep moving till you find them. Fished up toward Spring Warrior 2 mornings and caught 7 trout each morning. 4 ft of water on a variety. Great weather- and great time at a great place. Very thankfull to be able to enjoy God's creation.

I keep hearing that the scallops are thin at Keaton and thicker at St. Joe. Got to decide, because the Ol' Pro is supposed to be ready this weekend and I got some Boy Scouts raring to go.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

MD- my experience has been the opposite. I had an easier time finding them at Keaton. Maybe someone else will weight-in. Good luck with your Scouts. I'll bet they'll have fun wherever you go.

The initial reports I was hearing out of Keaton were poor, but I've talked to a few people who said they got their limit pretty easily in the last couple of weeks. You'll see a group of boats close to Grassy Island, and another one just North of the channel between Keaton and Dekle Beach. From what I understand, the ones going north of the channel are doing better than the ones at Grassy, but I haven't been yet myself. All hearsay.
