Got a late start did not get to ramp till around 9. My guest Caught a keeper on first cast. Was a beautiful day and
was so good to see water clear enough to see bottom in 4 feet of water. I had almost given up on this area.
Only managed 4 keepers and a few shorts . Heat pushed us in early but still a great day.

Have you tried 6'-7' water? We are having better luck in deeper water. Look for cover and try the deep water.

I hate to catch a keeper on my first cast. Normally, when I do, I have a terrible day. It has been so consistent for Andrew and I, that we both throw our first cast straight down at the water near the boat then quickly reel it back and start the day with the second cast.

Ha ha, I do the same thing. Are we letting the OCD win?

That is FUNNY!

Right up there with the banana saying.
Goes along with my Daddies reverse observation. "A bad start equals a good finish."
I saw a guy fall out of his boat on a cold winter morning. He must have had ended up with a SUPER day!
Steve, what would you think or do if you caught a fish on that first throw?
