I like the idea of not having to drill holes in the boat. But I've never seen a vacuum mount or stick-on that stays mounted for more than an hour.

Sea suckers work well. They aren't your run of the mill suction cups.
Catholic girl pray for me, you’re my only hope for heaven

Re: Has anyone tried these suckers?
I check them out at a show & they look like they work really well but wow, they aren't cheap. Velcro is a lot cheaper and now days is incredibly strong. Not only does the velcro itself hold really well but they've caught up with the modern glues that stick backing to the boat.
Re: Has anyone tried these suckers?
Thanks, y'all. Demon, I tried Velcro strips on a small caddy/lure holder, and the glue melted in the sun after a couple of weeks. Maybe I need to try industrial-grade, rather than yard-sale grade.
You're right; the suckers' price is out of my comfort zone. But I may look some more at their cup holders. I can always replace the plastic rod holders I have now with new plastic, using the old screw holes.
