I was going through some things today and realized I had a bunch of pictures I hadn’t posted from this past duck season. Not a bad thing. Finding pictures that bring back great memories of a previous winter chasing ducks in the marsh. We had Whistlers


and more Whistlers


And the Whistler habitat was really quite gorgeous


And Mike did a good job of hiding in the flowers. He’s not too macho to be intimidated by a bunch of flowers


We had a few new decoys out in the spread this year



And the decoys did their job


But we had other visitors than just Whistlers and Mike had to give Steve’s first decoy that he had ever carved a good talking to because there was just too much of this going on


so a talkin he gave him



That seemed to do the job too







My Black Dog and Mike got ferried around and they didn’t seem terribly pleased about it,

but that’s just the price they pay for getting to hunt pretty places with sunrises like this



And there were other neat places to see gorgeous sunrises



Which had great results as well



Soon we’ll be out chasing wood ducks and teal again….soooooooooooon

Makes me want to load up the shotgun and decoys, although my Rottie isn't crazy about swimming. He's the first mate on the boat.

Great pics, and those are some of the nicest decoys I've ever seen. Thanks for posting. Y'all can have the mini season, I'll see y'all when it cools off. For some reason duck hunting isn't duck hunting to me if I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt and carrying a thermocel.

Nice! Some very good colors on the decoys; hard to tell where the real birds ends and the imposters start in a couple of the pics.

Some more pictures from a salt marsh hunt. Steve made a truly gorgeous shot on a drake bluebill that day. One of the most impressive shots I’ve ever seen. It was my Black Dog’s turn to retrieve so off he went after the not quite dead drake. It was a looooooong retrieve that needed some direction, but he did very well.





Not the most traditional of carries but it sure got the job done

Great pics! looks like the G/B unit in the first pics. I hunted it for the first time last yr. Wigeon, teal and PT galore.

Yup we were there when some of those pictures were taken. I enjoy hunting there. A lot.
