I Can't Stand Politics, But I Jumped In To A Race.

I am not one for politics, but as a father of two girls in the Wakulla County School System, I felt it was time for a change on the School Board. In turn, I'm running for Wakulla County's School Board District 3 seat. I've watched our "A" rated District Rating drop to a "B" rating the last two years and unfortunately, half of our Elementary Schools are now "C" rated. Couple that with the two tax increases the School Board enacted since 2010, including the .5 mil increase via the 2013 Special Election and I just felt it was time to offer the voters a choice between a 20 year incumbent and a conservative parent. If you live in Wakulla County, I'd appreciate your vote. If you have questions about my campaign, etc, please do not hesitate to contact me via email:
fcrussell92@gmail.com or via my cell 879-1091.
Thanks,
Chris Russell (Scoop Sea)
BTW: Yes, those pink signs are mine. An aunt I was very close to died of Breast Cancer, so it was a way to honor her. I have 2 girls and I let them design the sign with the only requirement being there had to be some pink in there. Personally, I think the girls did a good job, I guess that's the dad in me.

More folks should have your convictions. Wishing you good luck! I'd vote for you but live in another county.
When you get into office you might find you'll have to make best choice from several bad choices. You might not always have a good choice!

He's running for school board ... not President.
If good folks don't run, we will continue to have lousy representation in government!

Thanks for the support fellas. I tell you what, I have a new sense of respect for candidates and the sacrifice it takes to run. Let's put it this way: I took my boat to D.I. one day over Memorial Day weekend to meet up with some other families, other than that it hasn't touch water that wasn't associated with rain.
It's a tough row to hoe in my race. My opponent has been there 20 years and has some strong connections. BUT, I promise you this, she won't outwork me out on the campaign trail.
Wevans: thanks for posting up the Facebook Page. That's what we are running with. If you get a chance, check out my Pay For Performance Plan on that page. Basically, if the School Grades go down, then so does the School Board Member's pay AND if the School Board taxes go up, the School Board Member's pay goes down...... It's time we put some serious accountability in this position.
If you have friends in Wakulla County, I'd sure appreciate you asking them to vote for me. Right now, after 4 days of early voting and collecting absentee ballots, we are at a terrible 8% voter turnout. Low voter turnout always helps the incumbents.
Please don't hesitate to call me at 879-1091 if yall have any questions, etc.
Thanks.
Chris Russell
