Will be fishing in Panacea this weekend and just need to confirm the reg’s on grouper. I understand that red grouper season is closed in state and fed waters and gag is closed in state waters in the big bend but still open in fed waters correct? Also are the kings and cobia still around?

Happy to share both the kings and cobes were in our area yesterday. Many cold mornings like we had today and that won't last long. Good luck to you.

Had a cobia come right up to our boat while we were fishing one of the oyster bars in front of the east river Saturday. Probably around 28". Never seen one in that close, but like BBG said I know they won't be around long with these colder temps.

Right, but "black grouper" is a not a gag grouper. I have never caught a black grouper in our area. Red grouper are open in state waters, but closed in fed.
