Fished the refuge from 8:30AM - 2:00PM - cold start with the wind and clouds, a little bit chilly wading but it warmed up nice by afternoon. Picked up a 16" trout early at the wash bar but not much else until I took advantage of the negative tide / north wind and waded out to Long Bar - more activity there. I got a 15" flounder, followed by three trout at 19", 21" and 21". I released both overslots. All fish except the first trout came on the Olive/chartreuse/white clouser (with gold, copper and UV pearl flash) that has been working so well this year. The first trout came on a small olive over tan clouser. The fish on the long bar came with the flood tide and were caught in a short span of time around noon. The water remains very clear at St Marks. Reds were again being caught at the end of the wash bar on freelined shrimp - most small but I think a few slots were caught.

Way to keep after 'em Terrier. Nice fish. You earned those after wading in that chilly water.

It was chilly in the early morning but by noon I had thawed out somewhat - looks like another cold front this week-end, so wading may be put on hold until the next warm spell.
