Get ready for the fire drill..Looks like the cobia are here according to reports out of Destin http://www.gulfcoastangling.com/

Anybody seen/caught one yet?

Capt K and I spotted a HUGE school of Cobia about 20 miles out of Carabelle yesterday but had NO CASTING RODS ABOARD!!!!

we were rod-fishing for Amberjack

Sweet, can't wait for a "ling fling". You guy's must have been right on top of him to see through the fog yesterday...Of course it helps when you have a flying bridge :grin:

Just re-read my post and it sounded kinda callous,,didn't mean "sweet" as far as you not having the proper gear to reach those cobia. Was just excited to hear the cobia are finally arriving in our area :smile:

Don't know if the fish are as finicky as they were down in Tampa last month but I threw every kind of hardware at a 15 fish school and they just kept on cruising North....also chucked a dead cigar minnow in front of them to no avail! Talked to a guy who said he battled 17 Cobes that same day out of the same water we were in but was forced to use live bait to get them to feed.....frustrating to look at those logs w/out being able to get a hook-up so take some live bait!
