fish the wac river this fri and sat with my son, we have never caught so many reds in our life. Friday total 33, sat 51 the only problem was all but 7 were 15 in or less , caught 4 snook biggest 28 in , only 3 trout all 3 legal. this time of the year the trout should have been abundant, these were the only trout we caught.

Wow, a 28-inch snook that far north is very impressive. Nice job on those and the reds. Wonder if the trout are pushed out by all the fresh water run-off or the numbers were hurt by the red tide this fall?

SNOOK? really??? SNOOK?
like this?
There were rumors of one in the Wakulla a few years back but I've never heard of anyone seeing or for sure catching more than one here.

yes relly more than one snooker. the only thing I can come with on the trout is the fresh water , I have always caught trout in the late fall and up to late Dec.

And historically Crystal River has been the northernmost range of snook in the Gulf.

there was one legal size caught last summer at Cedar key, ever time we seem to be getting them started we get a bad freeze and it takes four more years for them to start showing up.
