Banded duck - Sorta

Post by BlindHog »

Went to clean Saturday's ducks from Lake Jackson. Found that my drake ringer had a band!

Sorta. It was an o-ring or gasket, kind of like a large flashlight would have. Poor duckie had evidently put his head through it on a dive while feeding. It had worked its way down to his shoulders. But I promise you he was flying normally when I shot him.

Also had normal weight and muscle. Maybe it was only recently acquired. Image

I've been thinking about this duck... lucky his wings were not caught.
Or did you shoot him on the water :jester_1

Now it is a very serious accusation when you ask a man if he skillet shot a duck or not! :smt005 :smt005

As the photo clearly shows, his wings were unencumbered. Upon further review, the ruling on the lake is confirmed. :smt109

That ring for some reason looks like a seal from a pool pump lid or other such equipment. Some one may have dropped one in the drink. It doesn't appear to have much, if any, damage to it. if it had been there very long, I would thing the duck would have been working on it.

Dang it man. I shot and released that duck a few years back. You can keep him though. His name was Chuck.

Heck, maybe it was that duck that got left in the freezer a few years back and was still alive. guy's wife made him take it to the vet.

That's a Miner band. he ran out of money at the end and just used anything he had laying around.

makes for a cool story though.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?
