Can any one give a clue to what to do to catch fish in the Ecofina and Aucilla rivers last month and this month? We have been down three times and have caught one small red and struck out twice. Three times if you count the short red! Not your spot but what kind of water and baits.

Let it warm up a bit and hopefully it will stop raining one day. Water temps need to be about 65 and fish will move back out to the flats. All this fresh water really has them messed up right now, we are not even trying now. It will improve, give it time.

fish are still in the creeks. Not creek mouths - in the creeks.
Fish something you can work slowly, if at all. Try to cover the entire water column until you find where they are.

Agree on the SLOW. As slow as you think you should and then a little slower. We got into rats in a creek one afternoon last year and stayed with the school for a solid hour of nonstop action. Nothing to show in the livewell, but a blast of a day. All on very slow, bumping the bottom artificals.

We have been up in the creeks and did not have to much luck on that i know it is just finding the right structure to fish. I n the Aucilla we went up river and fished the deep holes, saw a few fish on Lowrance but no bites. We tore the up last year there I guess the water and weather has really got them messed up. I guess we all have had a tough winter this year and yes if I could even get in on the rat bite I am all in. Thanks for the comments!
