DONT KNOW IF THE OLD POSEY MOTEL IS RUNNIN OR NOT. SEVERAL YEARS BACK WE HAD TO STAY THERE AND YOU COULD READ A NEWSPAPER THROUGH THE SHEETS THEY WERE WORN SO BAD, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Is the Posey motel the one right at 98 and rock landing road?
If so its there but looks rough.

I've had friends stay at Wildwood and they seemed to like it. Its a short ride to the Marina from there.
there are also some condos near Angelo's on VRBO for around $100/ night

You DO NOT want to stay at the old Posey's motel in Panacea, it's basically a "long term rental" type of establishment that has become infested with folks you don't want to be around.

I'd suggest the Wildwood Inn, but now it's changed names (I can't remember the new name). I assume they have kept the same phone number: (850) 926-4455. They still have a sign out front advising that rooms are $69/night, but I would call to confirm that rate is still good.

I'm sure if you contact Petra at the Wakulla County Chamber of Commerce she can dial you in on some options as well. (850) 926-1848

I hope this helps.

I was just wondering if they had opened the the old posey's again. The last few times I was there it had become a rat trap.Looking at the sportsman lodge little further west.

I stayed at the wildwood inn once last year and it was $89 night. Nice and clean but almost empty.

I went by the Wildwood Inn last night on the way to Church and the name of the hotel is now the Magnuson Hotel. I did see the $69/night sign still out front. I don't know if there's a catch with that, i.e. weekdays, locals only, etc, etc. I didn't see a phone number but you might find one on line.

If you are gonna head west, you also have The Moorings over in Carrabelle where you can stay and get a boat slip with your stay.

Good luck on your quest.

the panacea motel is the next best thing to camping...but maybe not as clean. It doesn't bother me too much but I got a buddy that said never again

in Cbelle either hotel is nice. Moorings or Franklin Inn
