Mentioned this on Chalk's thread about a boat cover repair, but I wanted to give some props to a local business--Covertime Upholstery on Crescent Ave. in Tallahassee (850-877-1151, across from the federal prison on Capital Circle).

Jan worked with me to make a prototype insulated fish bag for my kayak several weeks ago. It turned out great, but didn't quite fit with my other gear arrangement so we went back to the drawing board. This is the final result.

It fits snugly into the stern of my Native Watercraft (underneath the camo skirt) and has a removable insert sleeve for easy clean-up. The sleeve is insulated with 1/2-inch closed cell foam and the exterior camo vinyl looks good and will wear very well. Put it through the paces the other day and it worked like a charm. Held a 7-pound bag of ice and three chunky trout with ease. Still had nearly all the ice after seven hours of fishing/travel. The dual zipper on the flap lets me pivot in the yak seat and slide the fish into their temporary deep freeze. Nylon handles support the weight for transfer and the nylon zipper will handle the salt.

Jan has also expertly re-covered my boat cushion, which is a complicated three-piece design with folding end sections. If you need boat upholstery work done like cushions, boat covers, etc. or you're working on restoring a classic muscle car (they do great auto interior/headliner work as well), I can highly recommend Jan and his brother. Outstanding work, fair prices and the guys love to fish.
