Some buddies and I decided that this weekend was prime for fishing. The weather was perfect Saturday and I had to work up above Macon
, so we decided Sunday was the day. The weatherman said the chance of rain was 100% and the tides weren't the best, but we were set in our mind that we were going fishing.
We got on the water a little before 9 and got out on the flats on what little water was still in the river. We were greeted with overcast skies and smooth water. It was slow fishing at first, but once we figured out our depth and bottom, we were catching keepers with ease.
Once the clouds burned off and the sun came out, the fishing got even better.
We caught a 3 man limit of trout plus a flounder in a couple hours.
We stayed out and had lunch and then headed in around 1 so that we could get home, cook, and have everything cleaned up before it got too late.
Never ran into any rain until we were back home.
We cooked fish tacos for all our friends tonight, and it was delicious. Its nice that spring fishing is finally here!
