Lots of bass, perch and panfish are being caught on Lake Talquin, and the good fishing should continue as long as the weather holds steady. The best fishing for all species seems to be late afternoon on into dark. Speckled perch have moved into 16- to 18-foot depths where you can anchor and fish with minnows or troll back and forth. Shellcrackers and bluegills are bedding in spots that are easy to locate on weekends by all the boats parked in the area. Black bass are feeding along the shorelines early in the day and late in the evening and moving into 12- to 16-foot depths off the points during the middle of the day. Stripers are all over the lake but with better catches coming from deep water near the dam.
Lake Seminole
