Spent Wednesday evening doing Spring boat maintenance and some clean up...
Then left Rock Landing Thursday at 6:45AM and ran out to the flats.
Was greeted with with cloudy skies and a beautiful sunrise- it was so good to be on the water!

My first trip since Duck Season
Water was 70-72 degrees depending on where we were!

And much clearer than I expected

I was excited to find the Spanish thick and trout willing to bite.... although they were slow.
My buddy Mike caught a big Spaniard

He even had a lady fish on for a few seconds before it threw the hook.
IT IS SPRING :smt026 :smt038
We ended up with a nice box of trout and spanish - with one blue thrown in.

I'm glad yall found some. They didn't bite near as well at Icky today, and the water is still too dark.
