Had to get a little something done at Mikes Marine, so I put in at Rock Landing.
The flats out there was teeming with schools of baitfish being chased by Ladyfish and Blues.
I had fun catching a lot of those.
No trout....nada
Talked to a fella who lives there by Rock Landing he told me the seatrout haven't showed up. The water doesn't look right either.
I also tried the mouth of the O around the bars on the low thinking maybe some reds.....nada

Picked up and rode to St Marks, got out around 3, the wind really was stiff. Fished around the bar but nada.
Went up the St Marks river and caught many 12"+ bass, that was fun.

Up the river some guys in a pontoon had got off the flats also and showed me two big Kings they had caught long with some Spanish, no trout.

Where are the trout? I think the water aint right. :-?

Sounds like a fun day. I love catching blues when they are chasing bait. And I there's something so fun about catching bass in a coastal river to me. I've been out of St. Marks a couple times this month and it was easy to catch trout in 2-3 foot of water. Kings from a pontoon boat at St. Marks? Did I read that right? I've got a 21' Carolina Skiff, maybe I could get out far enough to catch some. It's got a flat bottom so I'm cautious and never ventured past the bird rack tower. So when I'm running out past the light house there's a tower. Is that what they call the bird rack? Or is there also another tower further out?

I think you should be able to get out and catch a King.

It was just too sloppy for me to go out and try for trout out on the flats. That is good that you have been catching some lordsfisher.
