What do you call 2 days of small craft advisories following 5 days of perfect weather? The weekend. Seriously tho, April is really unpredictable with wind and rain. The new mood tides look sick, and I still haven't gone grouper fishing yet this season. Oh well, that's part of fishin

Saw a break in the clouds this morning on the radar. Weather Underground said 2 foot waves "OR LESS" with winds at 10 knots. Hooked up the old 16' tracker to the truck and made a mad dash for the lighthouse. Noticed on the long stretch towards the ramp after turning off 98 that the tree tops looked perfectly still. Solar/lunar tables looked right and Im getting excited. Dropped the old boat in the water and as I make the turn at the end of the rocks heading east, the waves looked closer to 3+. Wind was blowing so hard that I couldn't get the anchor to hold and kept floating into the crab traps. Hope these conditions get better by Monday! :(

I went too.
2' my ass.

There guys went out before me in a 20' sailfish and when I got near the mouth they were coming back. I found out why pretty quick. Oh well got to put the boat through its paces. Still haven't caught a fish from it  .

Maybe a 2' chop within 1 mile of shore. I ran to the bird rack and they were solid 4's in the channel. It calmed down around 2 bit hardly flat.

It didn't rain but I couldn't get far enough from the river to find water that wasn't the color of rust water.

Tried goose creek bay for some protection from the wind and may have done okay bit ran out of time due to dinner obligations tonight.

Didn't catch squat and fished hard.
