Lanark, Dog Island, Sunday, 5/16

The wind finally calmed down as I've been waiting since Thursday to to hit the water.
Went fishing with Banshee on Hard Times IV on Sunday, in the water by 8 am, rising tide till about 1 pm.
Picked up a dozen Pinfish in the bay. Wind was a tolerable in the bay. Open water (2' swells) was a bit more challenging for Hard Times IV's new found life as a salt water rig.
Her last life was a bass boat, but she doesn't appear to miss that much anymore.
Anyway, water was clear.
Picked up a couple short trout in 2'. Moved to 5'-6' in open water. Got a light anchor down which slowed the drift considerably, and began catching fishies.
Live shrimp on C/T seemed to be the key. I threw all colors of SWA and mirror lures on each drift with no luck. Then, we tried Shrimp and Pinfish, then bang, after the ladyfish and catfish all had sore mouths, the trout began to hit.
Within the first drift, picked up 3 keepers (18'). Moved about 300 yards, picked up 3 more about the same size. Picked up another on the last drift.
Off the water by 2, home by 4 with boat & gear cleaned and stowed.
By the way, someone lauched a fairly new 'G3' 18 footer aluminum CC. Very nice boat since I'm partial to aluminum. (Santa, are you paying attention?)
Great day on the water!
