I normally use a Uni to Uni to connect braid and fluoro

This morning I saw a video about the FG knot.. .it looks smaller and like it would pass through the guides better.

Any of you use it?

I use a similar, if not identical, knot that I know as the Sebile knot. I tie it differently, but the outcome is the same. I've seen it tied a third way, too. I like it a lot. It has never failed. It doesn't clack going through the guides.

Sebile knot and FG are the same. I did (k)not know that, I looked it up.

He is tying half hitches, not hitch knot, at the end. Just for clarification.

I was interested in knots from the fire service and now tie knots for a living (in surgery), so I love new knots.

This looks cool and as simple as the Uni-Uni which I love, but can be a pain when it gets inside the eyes. thanks for posting.

I have been tying the Albright special for some time. When tied properly I have not had a knot fail, and it is the smallest braid to floro I have found. Most of the time I tie a six foot leader, so this knot does not affect my casting as it passes through the guides very well.

Excellent post!

I love knots but can never remember their names. This is a new one for me but I'll try it.

Has anyone ever pondered how the wind can tie a knot you can't get undone? I've seen some hard one in my days and a few that had to be cut out. When that happens I wonder, how did the wind do that!

Thanks again for posting.

i have been using this knot for a few months now and really like it. i was searching for an alternative to using a wind on leader on some of my offshore rigs when i came acros this knot. i have tested this on big ajs and have straightened out several hooks and the knot stood up to the abuse. there are many how to videos out there and this one is by far the easiest method i have found. great share barry

I've been using a 5 turn surgeon's knot as long as I can remember to join braid to mono or fluoro. With that knot, 10lb braid tied to 20lb fluoro leader is strong enough to straighten out hooks on a topwater plug stuck in a log.. Can't imagine this is much stronger than that, but I think I'll try tying each, joining them together and see which fails first.

The slim beauty looks like it would be similar to the Uni-Uni with the tag ends. Does it pass through guides well with 20# braid and 20# flouro? I will try this one too, just for grins.
