Fished hard Friday and Saturday around Shell Point / Panacea and have 1 redfish, 1 barely legal trout, and about 20 lady fish to show for it. Is everyone else having slow days or am I screwing up? Thought maybe the stained water may be partially to blame??? Used Live pinfish/grubs/gulp shrimp/cut bait/top water, etc....

5 are in Bman's fridge! Unless they have been eaten already!
I think they will turn on soon.

I sure hope they do. It's a long haul to pull a boat from Tennessee to catch the Wiley ladyfish! Lol

I caught mine over grass in 3 feet of water near deep water. They were all on topwater early.
The bite was slow- they really slurped in the bait- not your typical hammering trout bite.
But the fish were healthy and fat... and YES onefishtwofish Tasty

Fished Friday west of lighthouse and managed 3 keeper trout to 23" and one 17" flounder. Not a bad day but the bite was tough. I tried top water early without anything so switched up to live shrimp under a cork and at least caught some fish. It was absolutely beautiful out there Friday. The fishing is getting better, keep at it, you'll eventually get on 'em!

We fished hard Sunday, last of incoming tide. Oyster Bay, mostly the cut that's west of Shell Point. Didn't get a bite, not even a ladyfish. Used swimbait with ProCure and Gulp and popping cork. The weekend before fished the lighthouse and only managed one Spanish. Haven't tried Lanark lately.
I'm considering switching to freshwater. Maybe going up to Lake Jackson and trying for bass in the weeds. I'd bet I could catch at least something there. Really demoralized by the inshore action here.

Fished the lighthouse flats hard today.
I could have done better with going early but fished from 10-4pm and caught 1 keeper trout I tossed back(didn't want to clean only one but had a feeling). A 3-4' blacktip shark which was the highlight, dink trout, couple pinfish(used one for the shark) and a few ladyfish. I fished hard for those 6 hours too.
Get back to shields and my boat neighbor is switching out a Gheenoe for his center console in the storage yard. He had a killer day fishing the creeks and getting really shallow.
They kept a few but he said they caught 8 trout over 20" and he only fished for a few hours

. So there you have it they are shallow for right now. I just sold my flats boat for a deep v which rides really nice but I can't get to the fish.

Really ?, You'll have better luck asking for a social security # and his bank balance.

I don't care I'll just be glad if anyone can have a good day out there.
East creeks between rock garden and the lighthouse.

Don't worry, with more rain the water gets dark and I don't venture into dark waters around that area.

We were fishing near Peters Rock and using a Moldcraft Super Chugger in blue and pink. All fish were released, including the white marlin, after epic battles. That Gheenoe can really back down on 'em in a hurry.
