Catching crawdads

Can anyone steer me to a place where I can pick up a few crawdads to use for bait? I know I'll have to dose myself with bug repellant with the yellow flies so bad right now. Thanks for any info.

I've seen people hunting for them in the flooded ditches alongside Woodville Hwy/263 between Hwy 98 and St. Marks. Not sure exactly how they are catching them or if they're there now. But water was still standing in the ditches when I was down last Friday. Seems to be worth a try anyway.
Be on the lookout for snakes, though.

I know of several people that get em out of the ditches on Geddie road that crosses from hwy 20 to hwy 90.

Any of the ditches in Tate's Hell. I'd use a trap or a pig's foot on a string and a dip net.

The best way I know is to go to those ditches and drag the bottom with a long handled bait net. Dump the leaves and crawdads in the grass and grab them and put them in a bucket. I tried one of those Gee's Minnow traps in my pond and did well with it until a gator found it and tried to eat it. Flattened that sucker right out.
