Got on the water by 8:30 with 2 boats, Banshee and I, Skeeter and George (neighbor)... (Low tide: 9:30, high: 3:00, Water Temp: about 85 all day)

Water in the bay was dead calm! Open water was dead calm as well. Both were Crystal Clear. Great water for 2 bass boats to do some exploring...

Bite was moderate all day. Fished live shrimp, and pinfish. Didn't get the chance to throw any softbaits.

We picked up 4 keeper trout, about 8 or so shorts. Additionally, picked up 6 or so short blues, and a few other scrub fish.

Highlight of the day was finding Skeeter and George chasing a Torpedo Cobia they hooked into. Loaned them my Gaff after about a 30 minute fight. Got to sit and watch them land it for the next 20 minutes! (I chose to hydrate myself and have a cigar! It was a great show!) Turned out to be a 40 inch, 30 pounder. Skeeter will probably publish a report on it...

Wind picked up to about 5 mph by 2 pm...

Great day on the water!

What a great report...especially the cobia. Wow....thirty pounds. They seem to be everywhere these days. Now's the time to go.
Don't usually get to go that far west....but it's teamting. Way to go.

What do you throw at those cobia? They just seem to ignore anything I put in front of them.

Oh. Nevermind - just saw in the other post that you used pinfish.

(Pinfish) See Skeeter's report:

Since they actually caught it.

I just got the pleasure of loaning them my gaff, and hauling it home for them. (In exchange for a few Cobia steaks of course :lick: )

Sometimes, it's a good thing to have friends on the water. That's what it's all about.
