My friends and I have heard recently that you can pay to have your scallops cleaned somewhere at Keaton beach. Was hoping someone could help with who does it and how much they charge.

There's folks right by the cleaning station at the marina that will do it. Not sure what they charge. There's also a sign up by the gas station as you near the public landing indicating someone over by Dekle will do it for you.

It is a large part of the experience. The part we don't want to do 4 days in a row.

I saw their sign, seemed to me I could buy scallops in a store for the amount they wanted for cleaning, but maybe I misunderstood the amount.

I've talked with them several time and they are careful and clean in their work. We clean our own but my nephew had some cleaned. They did a good job. I'd give it a try if you have the money. I think you would be satisfied.
