I want to put a battery in for just powering the depth finder and radio.
What size would work?

Re: Battery question
Depth finders don't usually draw too much. If by "radio" you mean VHF then they don't draw much either in the receive mode. So, a size 34 deep cycle should last all day for you as a house battery. However, if the radio is a music radio then you are talking something else especially if has an amplifier. Batteries are rated for amp hrs so technically you can add up the amp draw for each device & that will tell you what battery you need based on the battery rated amp hrs.
Re: Battery question
What motor do you have, many newer motors have dual alternator outputs to charge two batteries independently at the same time. Mine does not and I'm going to install a battery combiner, probably the Yandina C100 that connects the batteries together when a charge is present and disconnects them when the motor is off.

Re: Battery question
I think Demon meant a Group 24. Which would be fine.
Re: Battery question
I meant 34 but I use AGMs for all my batteries. Sam's usually has a good price on the Duracell AGMs. I think they are still made by East Penn. I quit buying the Walmart brand long ago.Too many early failures & too much maintenance with lead acid style. Mine are crammed in my console so maintaining lead acids are a pain in the butt. But as stated by those posters above, the 24 lead acid should suffice for your needs.
