We went to the East side of St George Island Bridge from 6 pm to 11 pm on Oct 3.
The weather was 63 degrees. Needed a light jacket. There was a steady breeze and the wate had light waves.
High tide was from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Just caught small croakers. We where using shrimp.
After 8 pm no bites. We switched to cut mullet
bam!
Silver trout all night!
Final total catch
12 Silver trout (all of them where at least 12 inche and fat!)
1 large and strange Stingray(short tail)
2 large croakers
1 toadfish
What was interesting was there was things swimming in the water that would glow on and off all night. Could not tell what it was...

  Good report. Cut bait is great doing that kind of fishing, usually catch some big whiting using it.

I bring two lanterns and a light for my cap. Suppose to have red lights on at night because of the turtles.
You definitley need these ights.
Saves me from sticking my finger with hooks and those catfish

I can tell you from growing up in the Tampa Bay area snook fishing that some squid can glow at night. Also, anything that makes a quick swoosh through the water will have a trail of glowing bubbles behind it. There is some sort small of luminescent organisms in the saltwater that glow when you disturb them.

The short-tailed ray was probably a butterfly ray. Harmless, but fight like crazy when hooked!
