Just a fun post:
Saturday afternoon I received a couple of texts from neighbors who had a pressing hog problem. The night before hogs tore up their yards and they were looking for help & advice. Their property is adjacent to some wetlands and for the last week I’ve noticed a sounder of hogs around the area.

The next morning I got up at 5:15 am to cycle (I like riding in the dark) but I first rode over to see if any hogs were around. There was a lone hog rooting up the adjacent property so I doubled back to get my crossbow and green hog light. Getting back to the hog I was able to get within an estimated 40 yards (it’s dark out) and together with a nearby street light helping to silhouette the black hog and my red illuminated scope reticle I was presented with a prefect broadside shot. Just as I squeezed the trigger however the hog turned towards me but I still heard the SMACK of the bolt hitting the hog. Although it didn’t act like it was hit hard it trotted off only 35 yards.

Each time we’ve taken a bear or hog with our crossbow I’m left with the thought that crossbows are VERY VERY WICKED WEAPONs!
