Put in a the fort at first light. Ran up to the tide pool ramp at the light house to throw the cast net then headed east to the flats. A bit chilly but the water was calm
and not much wind. Fished just east of the light house (in front of the cell tower) with little luck. Headed East and out (between the bird rack and stake line) and the bite really picked up. Small trout (12"-14-1/2" were hitting Gulp New Penny shrimp hot and heavy. Caught several keeps both on Gulp and the baitfish I was running under a popping cork. I wonder if the cooler weather is making a difference? Thoughts?

I fished thurs(yesterday). Out infrnt of piney island and saw similar action.more smalls than keepers but good fishing.I can't say it was hot &heavy but there was more trt arnd than there has been all year. I would have to say the falling water temp has em on the move.
