Good Mornin!
Fished a bit at Econfina yesterday. Caught a few under size Reds & a Flounder. Fished along the shore east of the river mouth.
Brought out the fly rod , I'm afraid I need to relearn fly casting in a strong breeze.
It got a little choppy mid afternoon so I headed for home. A fellow at the ramp told me that Tuesday the high tide pushed water up to where it covered the parking lot. I would have liked to see that!

FOGGY MORNIN ALL. YESTERDAY MY OLDEST SON CARRIED ME AND THE NEW BOAT DOWN TO THE ST.MARKS LIGHTHOUSE AND WE LAUNCHED THE BOAT IN A PRETTY STRONG WIND. WE WERE JUST OVER AN HOUR AFTER LOW TIDE AND THE CANAL WAS AS HIGH AS IT GETS NORMALLY AT HIGH TIDE. WE HEADED EAST OVER TO THE ROCK GARDEN AND FISHED FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS WITHOUT THE FIRST STRIKE. WIND WAS ABOUT 15 STEADY WITH GUST ABOUT EVERY 2-3 MINUTES UP TO ABOUT 25-30.VERY UNCONFORTABLE TRYING TO FISH IN THIS KIND OF WIND AND RUSHING TIDE. I THINK THE NEXT TIME WE TRY THE GULF I WILL TAKE THE OLD (TIN CAN) STARCRAFT. THE WIND WOULD PUSH US ALONG AT ABOUT 5-6 MILES PER HOUR, JUST A BAD DAY FOR FISHING. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET DOWN TO THE GULF IS WHEN MY SON CAN GET AWAY FROM SHAND'S HOSPITAL IN JACKSONVILLE. HE IS THE RADIOLOGIST OVER THERE AND CAN NOT GET AWAY JUST ANYTIME HE WANTS TO.
THE WHOLE FAMILY WILL BE COMING OVER FOR THANKSGIVING, MAYBE I CAN GET ONE OF MY KIDS OR GRANDKIDS TO TAKE BE BACK DOWN TO THE GULF AGAIN. SURE WAS DISCOURAGING NOT TO GET EVEN ONE STRIKE.

Sorry about that, Pa. It was very windy yesterday, I thought to myself if anybody was fishing they were getting blown around a lot. That makes for a tough day. Maybe next time.
