BloodyChamp wrote:Wow Dani that is nice. Today I did a little of that sneaking and creaking that I mentioned earlier in this convo, nothing majorly offensive and certainly nothing unethical or damaging to any property like a gate. I also didn’t violate what the gate stood for. But what I did do was...well let’s just say getting a boat down there is no longer a problem lol! Knowing my luck I won’t be able to do this by the time I get another boat but for now it’s not a problem and if it is we’ve covered what I need to do.
I went back Thursday to check this out again and make sure nothing had changed before I loaded up not just my boat but all the extra gear I’d need to stay safe out there. There were no tire tracks or anything. It was so undisturbed that.........nobody had even moved the dead tree across the road lol! This was 50 yards maybe from where I needed to get. So ok come back Saturday and clean that up and go fishing Sunday. Well I got to 98 Saturday and the main entrance was locked. I went to the other one and it was open but the pigtail roads were blocked off with metal posts and notes from the FWC. The pigtail roads were pretty wet so I don’t know if that’s why they did that or if it was related to also closing the big gate presumably because of the gee dee virus spike. Dang dang dang...now both potential projects (dragging a boat through the short way was the other) are on hold.

Went back to the fishing spot yesterday for the first time since the story from last summer and didn’t get to wet a hook because the hole was full of gators, 80s horror movie style. I drove up and the king of the hole was stretched out across the road. He slid in and I hopped out to find that after he’d slid in, he didn’t even go under, and that he had some smaller buddies with him. So on I went lol! They weren’t bothering the bream though because they were popping like crazy. There was alot less water in it than last year and at the bridge the water was clear. Very cool stuff. The only drawback was that the fish were gone, but I bet the would appear if you got out there and fished for them just like they do anywhere else. I did see some small bass in the shade under that 1 tree to the right if you’re facing the ocean on the bridge.
