Thoughts on fishing Steinhatachee 1/24/2016

Haven't seen too many reports about Steinhatachee, wanting to head down Sunday as the winds look light. Any insight would be great.

Have not been down there recently but last reports I read from Seahag said the trout were in the river and seemed like most of the pics were either in the river or creeks. With the last cold snap I would not expect a lot of action on the flats.

well went yesterday and there was no action on the flats nor the river(not even a bite). saw few boats in river then they left and all other boats i saw were in search mode. looks like the fish went into shock with last week weather and Saturday being cold. saw water temp between 47-53.

Well that's why they call it fishing and not catchin  I didn't get to fish any the latter half of 2015 but even before then things were "off" at the 'hatch like most of the BB coast. We've had weird weather as well so I'm sure the fish are confused as to where they are "supposed" to be. Looking forward to a better fishing year  Thanks for the report, always better on the water than at work or doing yard work.

That sounds just like my last trip to the Hatch. Not a bite. Upper St. Marks still had some trout last Thursday, don't know about now after the storm. Sorry they didn't bite, go try again. :smt004

Great job Dad!

Had someone tell me the other day that if they were not catching fish at least every 10 minutes they couldn't stay as he got bored. I'm happy being on the water dodging my two girls and wife's lures and popping corks while trying to keep them baited up and untangled. To each his own :D
