Hi, all....

This is my first time posting, so I'm not sure that this is the proper forum. Let me know if I need to post it somewhere else.

I was wondering if anyone had any luck recently in the Wakulla/Franklin county areas catching red or gag grouper? If so, what depths are they at this time of year and what are some favorite baits/methods that have been successful?

I fished out of Carrabelle last week the 4th and 5th when we had the break in the weather. Only went out 7 miles from Dog Island to 50' to 55' and caught a limit of 4 Gags for the two of us each day over honey comb hard bottom. Smallest was 25" and the 2 big ones were 30". We got a couple endangered ARS, but no Red Grouper. Never found live bait so these were on LYs and squid. If the current lays for tide change, eat lunch and wait it out - no current, no bite.
