Lanark 4/30

Decided to wet a hook. After looking at tides, decided it needed to be an early morning. Took my two nephews, neither of whom have a lot of time on the water. I knew with the weather report that it would be a zoo, so we got there early. On the water as the sun was coming up to a cloudy morning. After the ol' Pro ran great 2 weeks ago, it would not get full rpm's yesterday. The fuel bulb was hard to get pumped tight, so I hope it is a clogged fuel separator. Would get just enough to get on plane and run 15-18 mph. Ran west first and caught short fish with one keeper. Winds were higher than the 8-10 forecast, but were blowing from SSE. Decided to run back east and got the same result, but my goodness the number of boats! Set up drifts and again, shorts. Fish were in 4-5 of water. Ended up with 5 keepers. I had someone building me a shed at the old blue house, so we were off the water by 1PM. There were trucks and trailers everywhere around the market. Asked the ladies who might work on boats. They recommended Jerry in Carrabelle. Debbie got him on the phone and I arranged to leave the boat for repairs. Hope I'm right about the fuel separator. Back to blue house and a nap. Winds seemed to climb all afternoon. Beat the heck out of working!
