FINALLY got to give it a try

Post by Danibeth »

Went striper fishing this weekend with a couple of friends. We caught stripers and sunshine bass! These 4 were from Sunday. Sadly I don't have many shots of Saturday's haul but we did well. 3 spotted bass, a big catfish and a mix of 8 stripers and sunshines. Sunday was just these 4 but they were lots of fun. I have gotta figure out more places to go to chase stripers and sunshines. The biggest of the 4 ran about 16 lbs.

very nice. Duck camp at Seminole and live 10 minutes from Talquin and we never fish for them. Nice fish! I need some lessons!

Yep. but I always cut out the little strip of red meat they have in the fillets. some think it gives them a strong taste if you leave it in. deep fried, pan fried or baked, they're great IMO

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE Juan!!!!

I cooked one of the fillets like I do redfish.....on the halfshell....fillet it with skin and scales still attached, clean the slime off and put it on some tin foil skin side down....small pieces of cold butter, some lemon slices, fresh cilantro, some cajun pepper sprinkled over it and another lemon slice squeezed over it and a splash of white wine (or maybe tequila)....broil or grill til done....taaaaaaaaaaaaasty fish
