Tried the Icky today, put in about 9 AM and headed west. Tide low at 0930, I have forgotten how low the west flats at Icky can be. We must have rode 3-4 miles out looking for 4-5 ft. water. Got a keeper trout in 3.5, kept moving out to 6 ft. That's when somebody turned on the heater, it was unbelievably hot with no wind.

No more trout, kept going out. Wound up about 5 miles toward Aucilla fishing in 9-10 ft. water and found some good ones. Got 8 keeper trout to 19.5'', 2 10'' BSB, and 2 nice sharks. Tide started coming in about noon and finally got some wind relief. At 2:30 we got into a school of ladyfish and the trout bite all but stopped. We moved to try to get out of the ladys and it didn't help.

Packed up at 1530 on high tide and sent the 75 HP Merc back to the landing. Nice day out with good fishing buddy. Didn't see but 2 other boats all day, I bet it won't look that way on Saturday

BTW, we saw only a few scallops over that way, those we saw were deep.

Thanks for the report! Helpful in that we're going tomorrow despite the heat & crummy fishing forecast on tides4fishing.com. Planning on going out to deeper water right away. I'm thinking that this may be one of the last fish outings 'til September. Besides the heat, we'll be heading to Colorado for most of July & August.

Hey, CC, I like the tides 4 fishing site, I looked at it before yesterday's trip. You will do all right if you go deep, that's where they are now. Water surface temp was 83.5 out there. White and glow gulp seemed to do best.
