Went to Aucilla early and went East. Found some trout early in a spot I have done well before. Only managed two keepers, though. We really had our goal set on reds and as soon as there was enough water, we moved in. Should have stuck with the devil we knew. Not a single red. I did catch a keeper flounder and one just 1/4" short. Tried my best to make him legal. We moved around and tried to find some cooler water in the creeks. Went to a spot my buddy had caught 10 2 weeks ago and not a hit. All fish were caught before 9:30.

Got checked by the man at the ramp (all legal) and will be having fish for dinner anyways. Had not been in 3 weeks, so it just felt good to get salty. May try scalloping in the next week or two. Wife had knee replacement 3 weeks ago and I am the head nurse. Have to find a babysitter to go, but my main help, my daughter, would be pizzed if I went without her!

Nice work Doc, thanks for the report. My wife had a big surgery on Tuesday as well, so I'm also nursing. My sis and law came over yesterday morning so I could slip out and excercise some reds. Glad you were able to sneak out, I need to get you to show me around the aucilla one of these days

Temp in the AM 77 Temp as we were leaving 87 in some places.
