For those of you that travel often, unable to take 1 and/or 2piece rods with you... what do you use when traveling to fish?

I've got a trip to Omaha coming up next week, in which I'll be there all week so I'll want to get some fishing in. But I'll also be increasing my travel to almost 40% of the year for work, so I'll want something I can take often.

I'm not so much interested in a combo as I am in a rod.. Any input or if you have any for sale would be great!

I'll be looking for one that breaks down for flight/in a suitcase.

St. Croix Tidemaster Travel or Loomis Escape. Different weights and lengths in both brands, depending on what you'll be chasing. Largemouths, I assume, in Omaha, but maybe carp too. 'Cause you know, they're not just for breakfast anymore. (Midwest joke).

Seriously, both brands have good action and easy to carry in the overhead or in a duffle bag. They come in protective cases.

I bought an Okuma travel rod awhile back with multiple tips, but it was stiff as a broomstick so I returned it. Cabelas, Bass Pro and LL Bean all have travel rods too, but trend towards heavier as well.

Ronco (formerly Popeil) Pocket Fisherman. Fits in a carry on bag. 15 bucks and free shipping on Amazon.

On a bet, I landed a mid-slot redfish on this gizmo (tip: set the drag light, and prepare to wade in after you hook up).

Warning: if you use it in salt water, it's good for max of two trips, and only as long as they are both on the same day.

Would have loved to be standing on the bank with a video camera to record that one. That vantage point would have put me a safer distance from your pet lizards too!

I bought a Crowder travel rod w/zip case some years back....still one of my best rods. I'm not traveling any more for Business (retired) but I bring it with me on most fishing days.

Bass pro has a shakespeare 4 piece-I bought 2 for our trips to the bahamas- they worked very well-at a fraction of the cost of some of the "big names"
