Decided to take a chance to beat the showers on Fri. Launched at the lighthouse about 7:00 am and went to the back of Big Bay. Water was 86 degrees and the tide going out (fast). Fished around the grass lines to see if red was home. First cast, plastic electric chicken jig under a cork and bam; fish on. It was either big or just very strong. Couldn't stop that one and it cut me off in the grass (stuff happens). Partner lands a lady fish and cut bait is available. Caught a big puppy in the 16" range and then hooked and landed a nice 25+ fat red fish. So, they are around and hitting plastic and cut bait. The thunder storm ran us home earlier than we wanted, but it was fun and supper was in the cooler.
