Put in at the lighthouse around 6:30 a.m. Fri. Ran to the west near Goose Creek Bay looking for reds. Found a few working the shoreline but couldn't get any action. Fished the flat between Live oak and Sprague Island for trout. Picked up a few shorts. Ran back east in front of lighthouse. Picked up up few more shorts and 1 keeper trout. Ran back west to Pattys Island area . Caught a 19 " trout and a sail cat. Headed back east and fished the flats around Sprague Island, Big Pass, and Live Oak Island. We were able to land a few more shorts and 2 keeper trout.
Extremely slow Fri. Have to blame it on the moon and the onset of summer. The water was clear to slightly cloudy in most areas, except up in Goose Creek bay it was pretty muddy.
Totals for the day:
4 keeper trout. (17"-19")
12-15 throwback trout
7-8 snotcats
1 sail cat
and a couple of lady fish.
Caught the trout on C/T corks and jigs w/swa,(no particular color seemed to work better than any other) and Shrimp.
We dragged live pinfish everywhere we went Fri. Didn't catch the 1st trout on a pinfish. Had a couple of sharks cut them in half a few times though.
Loaded back up up by 3:00 p.m. Can't wait until next time.
