I have held off giving a report on Cedar Key until I had time to be there myself. there was one foot of water in the fire station all the docks at the ramps were torn up, all the stores on dock and 2nd street went under water or had damage . they had the highest water levels in most areas that they had ever had . there was a huge volunteer turn out there the last two days the ramps are open with limited parking. redfish are tearing it up on the good side

I saw a FB post from Steinhatchee today related to an official county/city meeting they are trying to get the public ramps open so that people will go down and fish/scallop since that is such a major part of their economy. I'm assuming that means the ramps are not ready yet.

According to the fwc website for 2016

Season: Open Aug. 22 - Sept. 5, 2016 (Labor Day), closing to harvest Sept. 6.

I think that must be for St Joe, looks like it closes on the 24th. Can't come soon enough

not enough scallops in Cedar Key to be worth spending the time trying to get them. The ramps are open, docks need major repair as does most of downtown.
