I'm headed down to apalach this weekend and planning on trailing the xpress down too. I have had great luck with trout and reds east of St George bridge behind state park but never had much luck west of govt cut. Can anyone give me some advice of where to go out of apalach to try some inshore fishing with artificials?

I'll be down there this weekend too and through the week. I haven't had a lot of luck west of the cut either except there is some grass flats about middle ways behind little St. George that has produced good trout. I usually concentrate around the state park and west around the runway on the plantation end. Had real good luck with reds and trout there. Also seen some good sized cobia but have never got one to eat. I will also fish the mouths of the creeks around Appalach for reds.

When u say the runway on plantation you are talking just east of govt cut near those coves with docks correct? I'm normally a Steinhatchee guy but have grown to love the town of apalach and want to learn more about the fishing.

Just inside the West Pass (east of pass) can be good also. Some good grass and oyster bars all up through there. This time of year they may around the Apalach bridge as they head toward the creeks.

The runway which is the airport runway that's in the plantation. The north end of the runway sticks partially out into the bay. It's approximately halfway from the bridge to the cut. Not many docks around that area. From there westward are some good grass flats out in the deeper water and oyster bars in shallow.
