Ponte Vedra neighborhood hog trap back in operation: Part II

Just a fun post.................
Over the summer the kids & I took a break from neighborhood hog trapping as it’s no fun hogging when it’s 90+ degrees out. Well the hogs have repopulated, gotten bolder and have begun to hit neighbor lawns and community common grounds too. A couple of neighbors asked me to start the hog trap back up as they are vectoring towards their backyards -one of the them just spent $800 resodding after the pigs found he had succulent St Augustine grass.
It’s a pretty wild “backyard” we have here in our neighborhood ……………………….
In the beginning I again left the door tied open for a few days to get the hogs comfortable with entering the trap………….
With everybody getting comfortable with the trap we set the rootstick……….
A first customer………………
Largest pig we’ve trapped so far (this photo doesn’t do him justice….)
This large boar was pretty RANK so rather than destroy it and not use the meat I called Justin who also traps hogs to live capture it.
I’m pretty sure this boar was thinking….If I could get ahold of you I’d……………
Nice cutters and whetters
This boar will be sold to a hunt camp that offers hog hunts to clients.
One down and more to go………………(this makes 15 hogs trapped so far)
Unfortunately, for the last few nights the darn coons have been tripping the rootstick and dropping the door. There have been some missed opportunities on account of these coons…….
Now on the opposite side of the neighborhood there are 7 other hogs coming out nightly and tearing things up…………………
